Franchise, a bullet against bad governance.

Hello everyone, it's still a new week in a new month. I know we're all optimistic about getting better of everything we're going to be doing this week, and to make amendment of the space we couldn't filled last week as usual as last month.

Few months from now, some democratic functions will be carry out in my locality. Election will be conducted in my local government council for a new set of councilors which will represent the people at the higher position and self as the mediator between the federal government and the local government. Here in Nigeria the local government is known as the government of the grassroot.
And so the election which is fast approaching is necessary and must follow all procedures, guidelines, rules from the electoral bodies and the constitution which is embedded in the democracy functions and features.

Election being one of the most powerful feature of the constitution and democracy, though it may varies from other jurisdictions but the main aim is not far from others.
Election and franchise are the people right when it comes to democratic system of government, away from the military takeover and dominance. It's the people right of the state to choose their representative among themselves. A person who is trusted and can represent them in the open and close door state activities and carry-out some executive and ceremonies functions as will be assigned and designated by the chief in command and the constitution.

The aims of election is not just to produce leaders into the government who will defend the governing or his people interest, but a leader who will be accounted for everything that happened up the hierarchical table and a leader who will be transparent in his or her doings.

It's well known that the people are the source of power when talking about the constitution, so a leader must be legitimate as the authority should always comes from the people inorder to ensure stability and smooth governance among the people. With election, the people will share in decisions making of the state and possess the spirit of ownership of the state and so will take up any obligations and responsibilities that comes their way.

In order to exercise our foundmental right and franchise when is election, an eligible citizen of the state must register and put down his or her details with the electoral body ahead of the election. After checking their names with the electoral bodies, they must proceed to the polling unit to cast their vote, that's when they will choose leaders of their choice and a leader who will represent them well. Not forgetting campaign, which candidate must engage and tell the people what he or she will do and create the awareness to the people of his ambition.

In a country and a sovereign state where the leader is well accountable to the people, transparent and upright in his leadership capacity. There is bound to be stability and good governance. The rate of hardship, inflation and violence will be controlled and well tackle.
So do we need such in this country.
