Quote of the Day 05th July 2026 – Crash and Burnham.

Few people I’ve spoken to have any high expectations of the upcoming Andy Burnham premiership. I know I’m expecting Burnham’s premiership to be an economically disastrous, oppressive failure and no improvement on Starmer. We will not be a happy country under Burnham.

Other’s seem to agree with me such as Mr William Clouston of the Social Democratic Party*.

In a recent X post Mr Clouston, in the context of what the Financial Times called ‘radical tax reform’, said:

“Burnham has never had a proper job, doesn’t have a view on the use of British North Sea oil and gas and - on this - doesn’t grasp the difference between stock and flow. He’s as bad as all the other Labour hopefuls… Pitiful.”

Spot on there Mr Clouston.
