Who will rid us of this turbulent moron? Starmer probably won’t. It’s down to the people of Tottenham to do that.

If there is any one politician who is indicative of the drop in quality of Britain’s politicians and political classes then it’s David Lammy the current Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Secretary. This man who has a long and ignominious record for unforced buffoonery should never have risen to the high office that he holds. Lammy has got where he is more by luck and the quirk of fate in being born Black and being treated as a token by White so called ‘anti racists’, than judgement or talent. Whether it’s disgracing himself on the Celebrity Mastermind TV show with his woeful general knowledge answers, to failing to see a police officer walking around when giving an interview about lack of police presence through to his damaging performance as Foreign Secretary you can guarantee that by his actions and his words Lamentable Lammy will cause many members of the public to facepalm in horror, disgust and sometimes mirth.

The latest thing to come to the public’s attention about Lamentable Lammy are the accusations that he misled the House of Commons by not giving full information to the House about a prisoner, one of many it seems, who was mistakenly released from gaol. According to a Sky News report, Lammy repeatedly denied knowledge of the mistakenly released prisoner whilst he was standing in for Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer at Prime Minister’s Questions.

Sky News said:

David Lammy has said he did not know all the details of a prisoner's mistaken release when repeatedly asked about it.
The justice secretary and deputy prime minister was heavily criticised for not revealing on Wednesday that registered Algerian sex offender Brahim Kaddour-Cherif had been released in error last week.
The Conservatives used Mr Lammy's appearance at Prime Minister's Questions to ask - five times - if another prisoner had been released after migrant sex offender Hadush Kebatu was released by mistake on 24 October instead of being taken to an immigration removal centre.

Mr Lammy gave an irate reply but refused to say he knew anything.
A day later, Mr Lammy has defended his decision not to reveal that he knew about the incident, saying he did not know the full details and did not want to mislead the public.

Now it appears we can have misleading the House of Commons to the lengthening lists of Lammy’s mess ups, faux pas’s and general incompetence. This is the House of Commons where Lammy was and should have been expected to be honest and forthright and quite frankly he hasn’t given that impression. He should have said what he knew even if what he knew was incomplete. There’s ways and means of saying that stuff that might have been accepted but instead Lammy chose to obfuscate. There’s no excuse for Lammy’s actions. This is not a national security scandal for example one relating to hostile foreign agents where some degree of secrecy when making Common statements or answering questions might be somewhat acceptable. These mistaken prisoner releases are nothing like that but they are politically embarrassing for Labour.

The question is how can this man, a man so patently unsuitable for the jobs that he’s been given by Starmer be removed? How can this obvious incompetent person be moved to a position that carries less responsibility that some of the positions that he’s held? The answer is that under the British Constitution there’s no way for a dissatisfied public to remove Lammy from office, only the Prime Minister can do that and he shows no sign of seeing Lammy as many of us in the general public see him. Starmer shows all the symptom of being willing to hang on to Lammy with the similar tenacity to how shit sticks to a blanket.

The only way for Lammy to be removed from public life and guided towards a position more suited to his abilities, such as a minor functionary on a parish council for example, would be for the electors of Tottenham to reject him at the next General Election. The people of Tottenham need to recognise that voting for Lammy on the grounds of his skin colour or because he’s Labour or because he’s made unfulfillable promises to improve his constituency area, is going to be a dead end for them. The only person who benefits from the voters of Tottenham bovinely queuing up to vote for Lammy at election time is Lammy himself. The streets of Tottenham will not get any safer or cleaner or more prosperous because of a vote for Lammy. On the contrary such a vote will ensure that the situation in this constituency will continue to decline.

The only way that this long suffering nation can be spared any more of David Lammy would be for the people of Tottenham to vote him out in 2029. Till then we have four more years of this turbulent ideologically driven incompetent moron that is David Lammy stuck with us in the House of Commons and in whatever incompatible position Starmer sees fit to put him in.

We need better politicians as we have had enough of poor quality ones like Lammy.
