As you all know, in my previous post I went a little off-topic and spoke about my health and fitness journey šŖ. Usually, 99% of my posts revolve around development activities and contributions I make for the Hive ecosystem ā open source tools, applications, updates, and improvements for our beloved Hive community.
But today, I am experimenting a little.
Yes, Hive.Blog is not just a developer logbook ā it is a true decentralized social media platform built on blockchain. And maybe it's time I use it more like a social platform ā to talk about real-life issues that affect all of us.
Because whatās the point of decentralization if we donāt speak the truth? š

A water tanker.
Now hereās the ironyā¦
This tanker is refilling water for a building that is literally just 100 meters away from the government water connection point. Yes. Just 100 meters.
Let that sink in.
šø Taxes Paid. Services Missing.
No matter which country or state you live in, one thing is common ā taxes.
Different names. Same concept.
We pay taxes expecting:
- ā” Electricity
- š§ Water supply
- š£ Proper roads
- š„ Basic civic services
These are not luxury services. These are bare minimum essentials.
Now imagine living in the center of the city, not some remote village ā and still having to depend on private water tankers for daily water supply.
Not 1 tanker.
Not 2.
But 3 to 4 tankers per day.
Calculate that for a month.
Now calculate the cost.
It becomes a massive financial burden on every family in that society.
š¤Æ The Bigger Twist
Now hereās where it becomes shocking.
Who owns the water tanker service?
š Politicians themselves.
And guess what?
One of them lives just 150 meters away from that very building.
Not far. Not in another area.
Right there.
Instead of solving the water supply issue for people living next to them, the system creates artificial scarcity ā so residents are forced to buy water from private tankers.

The most painful part?
Everyone has adjusted.
It has become ānormalā.
People who try to raise their voice face pressure. Sometimes even threats.
And this is exactly why decentralized platforms like Hive matter.

Okay, right away!
My country is the worst! I don't like talking about it, because it saddens my heart.
We pay heavy taxes, yet, no good road, water, electricity, or proper health care centres. Citizens provide water for themselves by digging borehole, or well(which is not even healthy for drinking) . Thereby, resolving to buying plastic bottle water or sachet, depending on one's financial capacity.
We pay for electricity that we don't use. Some areas only use 2-4 hours a day, some suffer for weeks or even months without electricity supply. The worst is, these politicians now privatize it, soley owned by them. Whether you used it or not, at the end of the month they bill the citizens heavily.
They travel outside the country to receive good medical care but refuse to fix that of the country for come man to benefit from.
Their children school abroad while our educational system suffer. Even when citizens pay through their noses, the money isn't used to at least pay the teachers and render quality service.
The list is endless, the more I talk about it the angrier I become, because it's sickening. Let me just stop here.
Our politicians do not have conscience.
I don't know what is the solution here. At least, putting them on decentralized social media - is the least we can do. We this we can at least, express our concern.

Most likely due to the reckless expansion of AI datacenters that is consuming all the water supply.
The same is also happening to the southwest part of Johor where some of my family lives. Of course these politicians are in denial, they are clearly exporting water to Singapore where many resource hungry datacenters are located, at much higher prices than what locals are paying.
It may be true in your country but here, this is happening for over past 20 years or even more.
Sometimes, I think that other countries are doing better & think of relocating but escaping isn't a correct solution.
