I watched a few documentaries on Somali community over there and it is like a different country there. Complete with Somali flags in their shopping mall, they also did not consider themselves black or African American, which pissed off African American community. And they voted for Trump in last election thinking they are going to benefit financially from his election. Things didn't work out that way and now they are switching their allegiance...

From what we've experienced here in Minnesota Somalis aren't interested in assimilating into Western culture but rather work to recreate Somali in whatever country they immigrate to. They live in somewhat closed communities and vote as one coordinated block, historically. Here in Minnesota they've always aligned with the Democratic party but likely have no political allegiance and will switch to whomever promises more money and benefits.
