Former President of Nigeria laid to rest

Today, being the 15th day of July 2025, the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, was laid to rest in his hometown, and the day was declared a public holiday in the nation to pay maximum respect for his commitment and service to the country. He died on the 13th of July 2025 in London, where he was receiving treatment for the severe illness that afflicted him. He lived for 82 years, and that’s truly an old age.

But is his soul really going to rest in peace? A lot of Nigerians haven't taken it lightly since the announcement of his death. Some are saying that there’s no way his soul will rest in peace because he caused a lot of havoc when he was alive and took away many innocent lives during his leadership, especially the genocide that occurred during the EndSARS protest.

Truthfully, a lot of bad things happened during his leadership as the president of the country, to the extent that many people prayed and wished for his death even while he was still in office, because he was so unconcerned about how people were being slaughtered in the country and about the hardship in the economy. This is why, even after his death was announced, a lot of people still went ahead to wish that he would not have a peaceful rest in the underworld.

I feel the pain of the people because I witnessed everything that happened during his tenure, but the best wish for him right now is to have a peaceful rest in the underworld. He did all he could when he was the president at the time, because leading a country like Nigeria is no joke.
