So, this is a political video, a philosophical one too. But even though I’m sharing it here, I also want to run something else by my fellow Hiveans.

Listen, I don’t know what kind of content actually works outside of Hive. Maybe the blogs I write or the videos I make only land here because of the friendships I’ve built over the years. That might be true—and honestly, that’s fine. But I think there’s a formula here that someone, possibly not me, could take and run with.

If you’re comfortable in front of a camera, and you also enjoy writing, hear me out:
Maybe you write a great blog—something you’re proud of—and then make a video based on it. Reading it word for word might be boring, sure, but if you wrote it, you don’t need a script. Just a few bullet points to keep you on track. That’s worked for me.

So here’s the idea. Picture this process:

Write a killer blog post. Something niche, something you love.

Make a short, engaging video about it. Shorter tends to do better algorithm-wise—but hey, I’m open to debate.

Upload the video to Web2 platforms. Twitter/X, YouTube, Rumble, Odysee, maybe not 4Chan (but I won't judge).

Include Hive links everywhere. In the video description, in the splash screen, a Hive logo in the corner—whatever works.

What's the goal?

Well, if it works (and again, I’m not claiming it will), random people scrolling through the void might stumble onto your video. They might like it. They might even follow you there. That’s already a win. But maybe, just maybe, they click the link. Maybe they check out your Hive blog.

This isn’t hard selling. We’ve got plenty of that already, and there’s a time and place for it. This is soft selling—leaving a trail of crumbs for the curious. No pressure. No pitchforks.

Why do we need soft selling?

Diversification. That’s the word. I’m all for the Hive shilling—I do it every single day. But not everyone responds to it. Some people hear “crypto blog” and immediately think “scam.” No nuance. Just reflex.

For those people, soft selling might actually work better.
