Disgraceful Clownery

In 2020, if it wasn’t for the media and social media backlash against Trump and the rigged elections, the orange man would’ve secured his second term right after the first.

Believe it or not, elections are rigged. They’ve always been rigged, and if the political class had any real desire, they’d have implemented transparent voting methods to prevent fraud.

In Romania, we had the first round of elections back in October 2024. A right-wing candidate, a total surprise, managed to position himself for the second round (we do that in Romania if no candidate gets over 51% of the votes). But then they canceled the elections and restarted the whole damn process.

Two weeks ago, we had new elections, and once again, a right-wing candidate won the first round with 40% of the votes, coming in first for the second round. This guy was close to hitting 50% while battling four or five candidates who basically represented the corrupt political system we’ve had since the so-called revolution in 1989.

Yesterday, we finally voted in the second round, and this guy, who wasn’t the elite oligarchy’s pick, had over 60% of the votes by noon. But by the end of the day, he lost the election by 10%. A bunch of people I’ve talked to lately are saying the elections must’ve been rigged.

Now, if America’s had rigged elections, and France managed to sideline Le Pen like that, why the hell would you think Romania’s immune to election rigging?
This fucker who got elected is George Soros’s guy, and my biggest fear is that he’ll drag us into war somehow. He even admitted before the election that he doesn’t rule out Romania joining the war at some point.

With all the debt Romania’s drowning in and the risk of getting sucked into a war, this country feels like a total waste of time. It’s like there’s no way to fix anything here. Rampant corruption and cowardice are turning this place into a miserable colony—but whose colony? That’s the real question right now.

If I wasn’t already sure about leaving the country this year, I’m 100% certain now. I’ve got zero hope left for Romania. It sucks, but that’s the truth. I see no reason to build my future here anymore. Who knows, maybe this was the kick in the butt I needed to do something with my life.
