RE: The idea of Hive: Loyalty and purity tests

oh the drama :D
people sell everything for various reasons, do i judge them? not really. do i often check? not really. But when i notice an account that is 5-7 years old, active and has no stake, it kinda feels selfish. The same as upvoting your own comments. So maybe i just don't want to have anything with them.
I like the idea of distributing Hive and while doing it earning. And i am lucky enough to not need to sell.
i have e feeling (could be wrong) Exyle would not have any particular problems if he staid on the chain. He kinda took the "i think both are wrong stand", took some shit from people that had strong feelings on Justin takeover.
not sure about Luke Stokes drama. maybe i missed it. i have a feeling he is just not that active, but i never seen him saying anything bad about the chain, and it feels like he is just not that active.
it will never be a pure chain, it is not possible, but there is nothing wrong it trying. We would agree that fighting the payed bot upvote service was a positive thing?
AI content is something new to everyone and the thoughts are evolving. I still have the take that using it is not a bad thing. Just be strait about it, and don't expect people throwing upvotes at you for AI automated posts.
Overall as someone who likes to test out all the new things made here, i would like to see more cooperation and less drama.
After Exyle got treated like garbage, I doubt he felt a desire to be here. I mean, his own tribe cast him out. Even if they said, hey.. come back, don't powerdown, it would be too much to ask of someone with a broken heart.
Luke was because he became a project lead on another blockchain (or something like that). I wanna say he got heavily involved with EOS, but it's been years so I can't remember. He got attacked for it, questioned for his commitment to the chain and thus began losing his place in the witness rankings, and then in the community.
I'm glad you brought up the AI content, because this post was inspired due to that "new drama".
You can have a personal position about something, and still think accept that some things are inevitable, and thus should probably be embraced.
I hate AI art, it pisses me off. You have no idea how it grinds my gears that there are people today who are calling themselves songwriters because they can prompt songs on an AI.
That being said, the cat is not going back in the bag. And this blockchain will have a ton of AI bots and apps running on it, or it will simply stay behind and perish.
The little bot in question, although not my cup of tea, was not in any way shape or form "destroy" the valuation of this chain.
Imagine a beach, full of sand, and a 5 year old kid with a toy shovel and a bucket carrying sand off to his dads truck, because he wants to have a sandbox in his house. Now imagine us witnessing this and thinking this kid is going to make the beaches of Florida disappear.
Now, if this little kid of my hypothetical hired a thousand people to help him loud trucks of sand, then the story would be different (giant spam farms). But that never happened.
Every single time the "immune system" here reacts like this, every single time it pushes out who they deem to be not pure enough, we lose too. I say this as someone who's seen it countless times. I've seen big names being driven off the chain for selling their stake (David Pakman comes to mind).
But hey... this is the price of freedom, people are free to fuck up.
after 3 days of worst stomach virus, trying to keep up :D
i get the Exyle point. For Luke maybe i messed a lot, i see him posting from time here to time and commenting on X.
There is no running away from AI. My personal take on it is just don't try to lie about it. Do we want just AI prompts articles on the chain? I would assume not.
From what i seen, and i must admit i am not deep into the politics, it is not just about the bot (and i know that was the point of your post), but to be honest in the current form, that bot just feels like spam.
I still didn't try it, but the AI youtube video summarizer sounds like something i would use and something that makes sense.
I mean i get your point, and i would say you are mostly right. But the way system works, if you sell everything you get, in the end most will stop supporting.
