Midnight at Sea: President Claudia Sheinbaum’s “Normal” Night

February 22, 2026.
The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, gets airlifted by Super Puma and relocated to a Mexican Navy ship, the Usumacinta A-412, off Guaymas, Sonora.
But relax.
Not fear.
Precaution.
Totally normal. Some people use a white noise machine to sleep. Others use an armed naval vessel surrounded by open water.
And it definitely has nothing to do with Mexican security forces taking out the country’s most wanted cartel boss, Nemesio El Mencho Oseguera Cervantes, in a high-stakes operation that triggered waves of violence.
Pure coincidence.
Because when everything is calm and stable, the logical move is to move your head of state offshore like a high-value asset.
Brush teeth. Say prayers. Helicopter ride to sea.
Nothing screams stability like maritime relocation right after the CJNG leadership gets removed and the temperature jumps from mild salsa to volcanic habanero.
But don’t call it fear.
It’s just a floating leadership retreat. Ocean views. Fresh air. Maybe some team bonding with the Navy.
And we’re supposed to believe that kind of chaos politely stops at a border like it’s showing ID.
So let’s be honest.
If your country’s top leader has to sleep on a warship after the most powerful criminal organization in the nation gets decapitated, does that sound like a minor issue? 🤔
Or does it sound like something a little bigger?
How many of you call that stability?
And how many call it exactly what it looks like? 🤷♂️
