State of the Union or UFC? Trump Starts Swinging š
Was I the only one watching the State of the Union like it was UFC fight night on pay-per-view, just to count how many jabs Donald Trump was going to throw?
Forget the teleprompter I was watching the scoreboard. Round 1. Ding ding.
Then came the insider trading moment. Trump brings it up, drops a reference to Nancy Pelosi, and suddenly lawmakers start popping up like someone yelled āfree stock tips.ā
He pausesā¦ scans the room like a low budget Terminator detecting signs of political lifeā¦ and goes:
āThey stood up for that. I canāt believe it. I canāt believe it. Did Nancy Pelosi stand up, if sheās here? Doubt it.ā
At that point it stopped feeling like the State of the Union and started feeling like open mic night at Congress Comedy Club except every joke came with a C-SPAN replay and a fact checker standing by with a defibrillator.
