Tiny Homes? Cool. Tiny Cars? Criminal. Welcome to American Logic. 🚗💸

So apparently Trump just “approved tiny cars” for U.S. production.
And suddenly, experts are acting like Americans have never seen a car smaller than a school bus before.
Their hot take?
“Americans don’t want small cars.”
Oh really? Since when?
Because every time I’ve tried to rent or buy one of these go-kart-sized cars, they cost more than a regular car.
A Mini Cooper with basic options? ~$35,000.
A Toyota Corolla? ~$25,000.
Double the space. Double the reliability. Half the price.
But sure, apparently living in a 200-square-foot “trendy” tiny home is fine because squeezing people into sardine cans is stylish now yet giving them a practical tiny car to actually get to work? Unthinkable.
Here’s the cold, ugly truth: automakers don’t hate small cars. They hate low-profit small cars.
Small car profit: $1,000–$2,000
Truck/SUV profit: $10,000–$15,000
Guess which one they actually want you to buy?
Hint: it’s the one that drinks gas like it’s happy hour 🍺⛽ and could tow your student debt to the moon.
And when they do release a small car, they sabotage it like pranksters in engineering:
Jack up the price
Add “luxury” features nobody asked for
Produce barely any
Make it look uncool
Limit trims
Then shrug and say: “See? Nobody bought it.”
No, marketing geniuses nobody bought it because you made it impossible to afford.
Let’s be honest small cars aren’t “less than” big cars. They’re:
🚗 Cheaper to fuel
🚗 Easier to park
🚗 Perfect for students and workers
🚗 Reliable
🚗 Practical
🚗 Not designed to make you cry at the gas station
So here’s the real question: if you just moved out of your mom’s house, or you’re grinding two jobs, are you really picking a $50k cute-mobile, or the car that actually lets you survive this month?
Truth’s ugly but simple: profit > people. Always. 💸😂
💬 Your turn: Would you rather drive a $50k tiny car or a $25k Corolla and still have money for ramen? Be honest.
