Excellent and thought-provoking post, @akdx! As a journalist, I see this dynamic playing out in many parts of the world. When the line between business and politics blurs, it's the common citizen who pays the price. The concept of 'crony capitalism' you mentioned is a real threat to the ideals of humanity. Integrity should indeed be the cornerstone of leadership, but as you rightly pointed out, the current political climate often discourages honest individuals from stepping forward.
